On August 24th 2022, a very special moment occured on a very special night. Myself and my fellow writer Christine Betts were hosting our first Write & Sip fundraising event for Gold Coast Writers’ Association at Whisky Lounge Mudgeeraba. Our writing comrades Kellie and Selena were also in attendance. During the evening, we learned that we had all been selected to be published in the 2022 Rainforest Writing Retreat anthology Got Game?. I couldn’t imagine receiving this wonderful news in a better way, with us all together.

Eight months later, we gathered again to celebrate the launch of the Got Game? anthology at Netherworld in Fortitude Valley.
To have the opportunity to share this process with my writing friends, my creative support network, is a milestone and a blessing. Words cannot express how proud I am of all of us. We were presented with a challenge, to write a short story about gaming, a topic outside of all of our knowledge base and comfort zones. But we did it, and the results are phenomenal.
I will treasure this whole experience, and I so look forward to continuing to share this writing journey with you three. We are the Awesome Foursome, the Fab Four!
Last Sunday I cosplayed for the first time ever, as my own book character, co-created with my co-author Christine (the same one I co-host Write & Sip with), for the launch of Rainforest Writing Retreat 2022 anthology ‘Got Game?’ at Netherworld, a funky bar in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley with an arcade, pinball machines & board games. Our short story, ‘Delete World’, is featured in the anthology.

Meet Emily Peters AKA Stormcrow Silver.

Teenage online gamer Stormcrow Silver is vicious and ambitious in her gaming live streams. Meanwhile, Emily Peters is an ungrateful little brat. All her mum wants is for Emily to help with dinner. When Emily tests a new game live for her fans, she is about to get everything she deserves.
I had so much fun yesterday, and even had a compliment about my cosplay by a passing stranger!
