In April 2024, I competed in Bend the Air, an annual competition in Australia for emerging aerial, acrobatic, and circus arts performers. I performed my Skyfall/ James Bond 007 aerial and hula hoop routine in the Circus category.

Aistear: Returning to Ireland
In this post, I share an excerpt from my memoir-in-progress, Aistear: A Woman's Journey. This excerpt is about arriving in Dublin at the beginning of my second visit to Ireland, the start of a three-week book research trip.
Skyfall: 007-Inspired Hooping
In 2024, I created a 007-themed aerial and hula hoop routine for an aerial arts competition I was entering. I performed the routine a few weeks before at the end-of-term student performance night at HAPY Studio, as a practice run before the big night. Dublin Writer’s Museum
I learned of the Dublin Writer's Museum during my first visit to Ireland in 2012. I could hardly believe it, a whole museum dedicated to writers!
Hooping the Town Green
Participating in the Brisbane St. Patrick's Day Parade continues to be a highlight of my experience as a performer. It has been an opportunity to combine my love of hula hooping with my affection for Ireland, and to share both with the world. This year, my performance was inspired by my life-changing experience of living in Ireland, travelling all over the country for twelve months.
A Journey of Circus
My introduction to circus arts had a literary connection, a nice flow-on from my passion for creative writing. I was at my local library in Brisbane researching for a book I was writing when I saw a poster advertising circus classes in Fortitude Valley.
A Journey of Writing
In this post I write about my love of creative writing, and how it has been a source of inspiration and encouragement from a young age.
