I am kicking off my month-long bookstore tour with my supernatural suspense Grave series.
Bringing this series to the world has been a lengthy process. I wrote Grave Bargain first, inspired by the first season of American Horror Story. I wrote Grave Boy because I wanted to explore Jasem’s background and character development more.
I originally published these stories as ebooks in 2020 during lockdown, and they have since both been through several rounds of revisions. Grave Bargain was, for some reason, always difficult to format as an ebook. Despite the production difficulties, I thoroughly enjoyed writing and revising these stories, and am super proud to present them to you now.
Grave Boy (Novella)
Jasem is a little boy growing up in Wadi Rum, Jordan. He comes from a long line of healers, shamans, and mystics, who moved with the wind all around the desert. When tragedy strikes his nomadic family, Jasem’s inherited psychic abilities are unlocked. He and his expat father repatriate to America, where his paternal grandmother recognises and nurtures his abilities throughout his childhood.
As an intern at a law enforcement agency, he uses his psychic abilities to assist criminal investigations. Dissatisfied with the secretive nature of this role, Jasem tries his luck at a career as a celebrity psychic medium. Following a humiliating incident on live television, Jasem is challenged to set fame and fortune aside and learn the ways of his ancestors in his quest to seek justice for the dead.
Grave Bargain: The supernaturally suspenseful sequel to Grave Boy (Short Story)
Dylan messed up. He cheated on his wife with Mara, a student at the university where he teaches. He is suspended from his job as a professor, but manages to convince a reluctant Constance to stay with him for the sake of their family. He ends the affair, but Mara does not respond well and disappears under suspicious circumstances. Soon after, a sinister stranger shows up, determined to dig up the past and threaten Dylan’s efforts to make amends.
