Generally, I’m not a romance writer, but I’ve had a go a few times, and even had some stories published and recognised in writing competitions. I must be doing something right!
Having discovered a love of storytelling early in life, when I was eighteen, my mother approached me about writing her life story. The book took three years to write, and at age twenty-one, I published my debut novel.
The Wilted Rose is a moving Australian story about a family living with mental illness in the 1960s and 1970s.
In 1950s Australia, an ambitious young woman named Sarah pursues her dream of becoming a nurse, facing constant pressures from family tradition and the prevailing cultural norms of the time. In the throes of a thriving career, Sarah is determined to balance work, marriage, and motherhood, challenged by an invisible illness that threatens to consume her.
Jack is a loving husband to Sarah and a devoted father to their children. Their daughter, Grace, navigates a tumultuous home life, longing for the freedom that adulthood promises. Isolated by stigma, the family’s lonely battles are fought privately within their home.
The Wilted Rose eBook is available wide. Paperback copies of The Wilted Rose are available from Amazon, Booktopia, and other online retailers.

Jabiru is a meet-cute story about a young solo traveller’s unexpected encounter in the heart of Australia, which will redefine her outlook on modern dating, love and relationships. It was inspired by my own experience being asked on a date after a day trip to Arnhem Land while visiting Kakadu National Park in the Northern Territory.
Jabiru was selected in the 2023 Outback Writers Festival Short Story Competition and published in the annual anthology.
Jabiru is available as an ebook and audiobook.
